OHCA policy change
August 5, 2019
To: state-licensed Behavior Analysts/certified Assistant Behavior Analysts
As you may be aware, the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority (OHCA) developed policy (Administrative Code 317:30-3-65.12) allowing board certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), currently licensed in the State of Oklahoma to provide compensable services to SoonerCare members under the age of 21. Potential service providers must have an approved contract with the OHCA.
The OHCA website provides information about the contract process. On the website you will find instructions for enrolling as well as a link to the required form for requesting service authorization. Tanesha Hooks, 405-522-7597 is the OHCA representative to contact with questions.
You will note that Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are not included as a billable service at this time. The Department of Human Services has added RBT language to its policies and is requesting emergency approval of the revised language. When this policy is approved, OHCA is ready to add the RBT as a billable service under the supervision of a BCBA. You will be notified when this occurs.
